Week 6 - Newton's Laws

Weekly Objectives:
1. Explain the differences between mass and gravity and be able to measure and calculate these values accurately.
2. Define inertia and it's relationship to mass and motion
3. Explain the relationship between force, mass and acceleration
4. Use Newton's laws to solve complex problems with multiple objects in motion (Atwood Machine)
5. Draw detailed force diagrams showing applied forces, gravitational forces, and support forces and use these diagrams to support calculations and problem solving
6. Use Newton's Laws to explain and quantify the movement of objects affected by applied forces, gravitational forces, and frictional forces.
7. Explain the Universal Law of Gravitation and the relationships between force, mass and distance
8. Use vector components to solve problems involving forces applied at angles (incline planes)
9. Define friction (static and kinetic) and its affects on objects in motion and at rest, both linear and at at incline
